Best Screen Recorders With Color Filters and LUT Support (2026)

Screen recorders that can color grade what they record, compared: Tella, OBS Studio, Camtasia, and CapCut, plus Camo for grading a webcam live. What each supports (.cube LUTs, presets, separate camera grading) and how you share the result.

A few screen recorders can now color grade what they record, which saves a trip through Premiere or DaVinci Resolve just to warm up a webcam. They do it in different places, though: some apply a LUT live while you record, some in a timeline editor before you export, and one in the editor your share link plays from.

This guide covers the recorders with color filters or .cube LUT support, where the grade happens, and how you get the result to viewers. Features and pricing are from each vendor's site as of September 2026; check them before buying.

Quick picks

  • Best overall: Tella. Presets, sliders, and .cube LUTs on the camera and screen separately, in the editor you share from, on Mac, Windows, and the web.
  • Best free option: OBS Studio. An Apply LUT filter on any source, set before you record.
  • Best full desktop editor: Camtasia. LUT effects inside a deep timeline editor; you export and host elsewhere.
  • Best for social clips: CapCut. LUT import in its desktop editor, with short-form tools around it.
  • Best for grading a webcam live in any app: Camo. A webcam utility, not a recorder, that grades the camera before your recorder or call sees it.

What we checked

  1. Does it take real LUTs? A "filters" menu is not the same as importing a .cube file from your colorist or Resolve.
  2. Can the camera be graded without the screen? A film look on a face is great. The same look on your product UI shifts its brand colors.
  3. When is the grade applied? Live grading is baked in. Editor grading can be changed later.
  4. What happens after grading? A hosted link that updates is different from exporting and uploading a new file each time you tweak the look.

Tella

Tella is a screen recorder and AI video editor for Mac, Windows, Chrome, and the web. Color lives in the editor under Style → Filters.

Color tools: six presets for every recording (None, Warm, Cool, Crisp, Fade, Mono), five camera looks (Golden hour, Vivid, Noir, Dreamy, Night), Exposure, Contrast, Saturation, Temperature, and Tint sliders, and 3D .cube LUTs up to size 65 with a LUT intensity control. Built-in LUTs are Portra, 800T, and Wes.

Camera vs screen: recorded as separate tracks, with separate Camera, Screen, and Media tabs. Warm the face and leave the UI untouched.

Consistency: a filter covers matching clips across the video by default, and uploaded LUTs can be shared to the workspace so the team uses one look. The MCP server and API let an AI agent or script apply the same grade across many videos.

Sharing: the grade plays on the hosted link, embeds, and 4K MP4 exports. Change it later and the link updates.

Pricing: 7-day free trial; paid plans from $13 per user per month on the annual Pro plan.

Keep in mind: there are no masks, qualifiers, or scopes. For secondary correction, use Resolve.

OBS Studio

OBS Studio is the free, open-source recording and streaming app for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Color tools: add an Apply LUT filter to any source, such as your webcam, and pick a .cube or PNG LUT with an amount slider. A Color Correction filter adds gamma, contrast, brightness, saturation, and hue.

Camera vs screen: yes, because filters are per source.

Sharing: none. OBS writes a file you upload yourself.

Keep in mind: the LUT is baked into the recording. If it's too strong, you re-record or grade again in another editor. There's no editing at all. See Tella vs OBS.

Camtasia

Camtasia is TechSmith's screen recorder and timeline editor for Mac and Windows.

Color tools: color adjustment effects and a LUT visual effect in the editor.

Camera vs screen: yes, when the camera is recorded to its own track.

Sharing: no hosting. Export and upload to YouTube, Vimeo, or your own host.

Pricing: from $179.88/yr.

Keep in mind: every change to the grade means a new export and upload. See Tella vs Camtasia.

CapCut

CapCut is ByteDance's video editor, with a desktop app built for short-form and social content.

Color tools: a filters library, basic adjustments, and .cube LUT import in the desktop editor.

Camera vs screen: only when they're separate clips on the timeline.

Sharing: no hosting for work videos. Export and post.

Keep in mind: it's a social editor first. For a screen-and-camera demo you share by link, Color-grade SaaS demos without CapCut walks through the alternative. See also Tella vs CapCut.

Camo

Camo (from Reincubate) turns a phone or webcam into a better camera for any app, with image controls and LUT support.

Why it's here: it grades your camera before your recorder, browser, or video call sees it, so it works with any recorder, including ones with no color tools.

Keep in mind: it's not a recorder or editor, and like OBS, the grade is baked in. It only affects the camera.

What about Loom and Screen Studio?

Neither advertises color filters or LUT support. Loom is built around fast recording and hosting; Screen Studio around automatic zooms and polished exports on a Mac. If you like either one's workflow and want color control, Tella covers both hosting and zooms with filters and LUTs in the same editor. See Tella vs Loom and Tella vs Screen Studio.
