# Remix & reuse videos and clips
> Save rendered clips or their original recordings to your media library, then reuse or remix them in other Tella videos.
## Reusing and remixing videos and clips in Tella
You can reuse and remix any video or clip you’ve ever created in Tella. This guide will show you multiple ways to incorporate existing content into new or current projects.
### Method 1: Adding existing clips to a current video
1. **Open your current video** in the Tella editor.
2. Click the **Add clip** button at the bottom of the timeline.
3. Select **Select from existing** from the dropdown menu.
4. **Search by title or transcript** to find the clip or video you want to add. You can also scroll through your library. The **Only my videos** toggle is on by default. Turn it off to also browse clips shared across your workspace.
5. **Click on the desired clip** to add it to your current video.
6. **Rename the clip** if necessary by clicking on its title and entering a new name (e.g., “Intro”).
7. **Rearrange the clip** by clicking and dragging it to the desired position in your timeline.
### Method 2: Copying a clip from an existing video into another video
1. **Open the video** that contains the clip you want to reuse.
2. Click on **Edit** to enter the editing mode.
3. Navigate to the **clip you want to copy**.
4. Click on the **three dots** (…) next to the clip.
5. Select **Copy to Existing Video**.
* The clip is now copied to your clipboard.
6. **Open the video** where you want to add the copied clip.
7. **Paste the clip** into the video by pressing **Command + V** (Mac) or **Control + V** (Windows).
8. **Rename and reposition** the clip as needed.
### Method 3: Duplicating a clip within the same video
1. **Open your video** in the Tella editor.
2. Locate the **clip you want to duplicate** in the timeline.
3. Click on the **three dots** (…) next to the clip.
4. Select **Duplicate**.
* A copy appears immediately after the original with a spinner while Tella prepares it.
* The original clip's action reads **Duplicating…** and stays disabled until the copy is ready.
5. When the spinner disappears, **rename or reposition** the duplicated clip as needed.
### Method 4: Creating a new video from an existing clip
1. **Open the video** that contains the clip you want to use.
2. Click on **Edit** to enter the editing mode.
3. Navigate to the **clip you want to copy**.
4. Click on the **three dots** (…) next to the clip.
5. Select **Copy to New Video**.
A new video will be created with the selected clip as its starting point.
## Save a clip to your media library
Use **Add clip to media library** to render a clip as reusable media.
1. Open the video in the Tella editor.
2. Click the **three dots** (…) next to the clip.
3. Select **Add clip to media library**.
4. Wait for the **Clip added to media library** confirmation.
After rendering finishes, open the destination video, select a layout section, open **Customize**, and set the desired slot's **Source** to **Media**. The Media Library opens automatically; select the saved clip from the **Personal** section. See [Add media (B-roll)](/docs/help/editing/use-media) for the full workflow.
Rendered media is reused as B-roll rather than as a full timeline clip, so it does not appear under **Add clip** → **Select from existing**.
## Save an original source to your media library
The same **three dots** (…) menu also offers **Add source to media library**. When the clip was recorded with both camera and screen, you get one entry for each: **Add camera source to media library** and **Add screen source to media library**.
This saves the original recording behind the clip. Nothing is rendered, so the item appears in your library straight away, with the **Source added to media library** confirmation.

Both options save to the **Personal** section of your media library.
### When to use each one
* Use **Add clip** when you want the finished look reused elsewhere, for example a styled intro or outro you drop into other videos.
* Use **Add source** when you want the raw footage to re-edit from scratch, for example reusing a screen recording behind a different layout, or trimming a different section out of it.
**Add source** points at the original recording rather than copying it. Deleting the source video moves it to the [Trash](/docs/help/account/recover-deleted-video), so you still have 30 days to restore it. Once it is permanently deleted, either by **Delete now** or when those 30 days are up, the library item stops working, unless another video still uses that same recording.
### Tips and best practices
* **Organize your clips**: Use descriptive names for your clips to make them easier to find when searching your library.
* **Search functionality**: Use the search bar in the **Select from existing** dialog to find clips by title or transcript content.
* **Keyboard shortcuts**: Remember that **Command + V** (Mac) or **Control + V** (Windows) can be used to paste copied clips into your videos.
* **Rearranging clips**: You can click and drag clips in the timeline to reorder them as needed.
By following these methods, you can efficiently reuse and remix your existing content in Tella, saving time and enhancing your video projects.
