# Edit video title

> How to change the title of a Tella video, in the editor or from your library.

You can easily update your video's title at any time if you're the video creator or editor. Tella provides multiple ways to rename your video for convenience.

By default, Tella automatically generates a title for each new recording using AI. You can turn this off in **Settings** > **Preferences** by disabling **Auto-generate titles**.

AI-generated titles may include one professional emoji when your transcript makes the video's topic clear. If the topic is unclear, Tella leaves the emoji out, and it never chooses an emoji based on the speaker's name or identity.

## How to change your video title

There are three ways to change your video's title:

### Method 1: From the view page

1. Open your video on the view page.

2. Click directly on the title name below your video.

3. Type your new title.

4. Press Enter or click outside the field to save.

  Hover over the title on the view page to reveal a sparkles icon. Click it to regenerate the title with AI, or click again while it's running to cancel.

### Method 2: Using the video title menu

If you are the video creator or an editor, you can rename your video from the video title menu on both the view page and the editor.

1. Click the video title in the top-left corner, next to the logo.
2. Select **Rename**.
3. Type your new title and press Enter.

To change the title and description together, select **Edit details** instead, make your changes, and click **Save**. In that dialog you can also click **Generate** or **Regenerate** to have Tella suggest a title and description from the video.

### Method 3: From the editor setup sidebar

1. Open your video in the editor.

2. Navigate to the **Setup** sidebar.

3. Find the title field.

4. Enter your new title.

5. Tella saves the change automatically.

  After you rename a video, the browser tab updates to show the new title. Tella app pages add **— Tella**, while pages on a custom domain show only the video title.
