## How to do it in Tella

1. Open your video and the Tella Agent chat on the right (Shift + S shows the sidebar).
2. Select a recorded clip, or choose [Add clip → New Tella Motion clip](https://www.tella.com/help/editing/tella-motion#add-a-tella-motion-clip).
3. Give the start and end values, how long the count takes, and any prefix, suffix or decimals.
4. On a recorded clip, say which words start the count. Preview it and ask for changes.

- Available to everyone: through the Tella Agent on a paid plan or the 7-day trial, or through Claude or ChatGPT on any plan.
- The count runs on values you set. It doesn't read a live data source or update after export.
- A Tella Motion clip has no transcript, so a counter there is timed in seconds. To start it on your words, add it over a recorded clip.

## Questions people ask

### Can the counter slow down as it reaches the final number?

Yes. Tella Motion animates the number with easing such as ease, easeIn or easeOut. Ask the Tella Agent for the count to ease out and it slows as it lands on the final number.

### Can one counter drive other parts of the graphic?

Yes. The counter reads a named curve in Tella Motion, and other properties, like a bar's scale, can read the same curve. Ask the Tella Agent to tie them together so the bar grows in step with the number.

### Can Claude or ChatGPT build the counter instead?

Yes. An AI app connected to Tella's [MCP server](https://www.tella.com/mcp) can use the same Tella Motion commands as the Tella Agent: setCurve to animate the value, then bindProperty to show it in a title's text.
