Restrict which websites can embed your Tella videos, so they only play on domains you approve. Tella Premium only.
Domain restriction makes an embedded Tella video play only on websites you approve. Set the video’s access to Embed only, then list your domains in Share → Embed → Domain restriction. It requires Tella Premium. This is especially helpful for paywalled courses or if you’re creating content for a client’s website, internal company resources, or any situation where you need to control video distribution.
Navigate to your video’s view page and click Share.
Set the access dropdown to Embed only.
Open embed settings (the settings icon on the Embed only row, or the Embed tab) and enter the domains in the Domain restriction field (for example, “tella.com”).
Add multiple domains by comma separating the list of domains. For example, “tella.com, tella.tv”.
What happens when someone plays it on another site?
Once domain restriction is enabled, your embedded video will only play on the domains you’ve specified. If someone tries to embed your video or play your video through the Tella view page, they’ll see a message saying “No access.”
Restricting embed domains may affect link previews in Slack, messaging apps, and social media. These services fetch a preview of the video URL from their own servers, which won’t match your allowed domains. If link previews matter for your workflow, consider this before enabling domain restrictions.
