Internet connection

The minimum upload speed for reliable use of Tella is between 2.5 and 5 Mbps. If you don’t know what your internet connection’s upload speed is, test it here.

Web browsers

Tella works across all web browsers, including:
  • Chrome 111 (released March 2023) or later
  • Safari 16.4 (released March 2023) or later
  • Firefox 128 (released July 2024) or later
  • Brave (Chromium 111 - released March 2023) or later
  • Arc (Chromium 111 - released March 2023) or later
  • Edge
Note: the list of supported browsers may change as we improve Tella and upgrade to the latest libraries. When browsers no longer support these newer versions, Tella unfortunately cannot either.
If you have any questions about this, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

Computers

You can use Tella on Mac or Windows (with the web browsers mentioned above). People have used Tella on Linux and Ubuntu in the past, but there were issues with accessing the screen, camera, and mic.
  • For Windows computers, we only support Windows 10 or higher. Windows 7 or below is not supported. Our Windows app (Beta) requires Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) or later, including Windows 11. See the full Windows app system requirements.
  • For Mac computers, our Mac app requires macOS Ventura (version 13.1 or later). You must update your macOS version to at least 13.1 to use it. See the full Mac app system requirements.

Mobile and tablets

You can use Tella on phones and tablets to record quick videos, watch videos, browse your library, and copy share links. Mobile recording uses quick mode automatically. The editor, multiple-clips mode, and desktop recording features are not available on mobile browsers. For editing, open Tella on a Mac or Windows computer.
