You can share a skill you wrote in the Tella Agent three ways: with your workspace, with anyone at a public link, or with everyone on the community skills page at tella.com/skills once Tella approves it. All three start in the skill library: open it with the Skills button at the top of the agent sidebar, or from Add (+) → Skills, then click a skill to open it.

Share a skill with your workspace

Drag the skill from Personal to Workspace in the skill library. Everyone in the workspace can then run it from the / menu in their agent chat. Drag it back to Personal to keep it to yourself again. You need to be a workspace owner or member to change workspace skills. Publish to web gives a skill its own page that anyone can open, even without a Tella account.
  1. Open the skill in the skill library.
  2. Under its instructions, click Publish next to Publish to web.
  3. Turn on Publish to web.
  4. Click Copy link and send it to whoever you want.
The page shows the skill’s instructions and files. Anyone signed in to Tella can click Add to my skills to save a copy to their Personal or Workspace skills, or copy the skill ID under Paste into Tella’s AI chat to try it in one chat. People without an account are asked to sign up first. You can also ask the agent to do it, for example “Publish my demo-polish skill”. It asks for your approval before publishing.
Only skills written in Tella can be published or shared, not built-in skills or skills added from GitHub. To publish a workspace skill, you need to be a workspace owner or member.

Update a published skill

The public page keeps the version you published. When you edit the skill afterwards, the library shows Edited since you published it: click Manage, then Publish changes to update the page. Click Manage next to Published to web and turn off Publish to web. The link stops working; copies people already added stay theirs. In the same window, Search engine indexing controls whether search engines can list the skill’s page. The window also shows how many people added and used the skill.

Publish a skill to the community skills page

Share with the community sends your skill to Tella for review. Once approved, it’s listed on tella.com/skills with your name, and anyone can use it in their Tella Agent chat.
  1. Open the skill in the skill library.
  2. Under its instructions, click Share with the community.
  3. You’ll see Sent for review. Nothing is public until Tella approves it.
Once approved, the skill’s instructions and files, including any videos, are public. Anyone can click Copy under Use it in Tella on its page and paste the ID into a chat, as described in Use a community skill in one chat.

Update a skill on the community skills page

Edit the skill in Tella, then click Share with the community again. It sends your latest version, which Tella reviews before the page changes.

Which skills can be shared with the community?

  • Skills written in Tella, for example one you saved with Save as skill or asked the agent to create. Built-in skills and skills added from GitHub can’t be shared.
  • Skills you wrote. Only the person who created a skill can share it, even if it’s a workspace skill.
  • Names without “tella”, “official”, “verified” or “staff”. Those are reserved; rename the skill to share it.
  • Up to 25 MB in total, with each file up to 10 MB.
Before you share, check the skill doesn’t include anything private: its instructions and every file, including reference videos and images, become public once approved.

Publish to web or share with the community?

Use Publish to web to hand a skill to specific people right away: it’s live as soon as you turn it on, and you can unpublish it anytime. Use Share with the community when you want anyone browsing tella.com/skills to find it. You can do both for the same skill.
