Tella posts your video straight to your TikTok account from Share → Publish. You choose who can see it and what viewers can do with it on TikTok’s own form, which TikTok requires apps to show before every post.

Publish a video to TikTok

  1. Click Share and open the Publish tab.
  2. Under Destinations, pick TikTok (connect it first if it says Connect).
  3. Under Post details, click All destinations to show the platform tabs, then open the TikTok tab. It shows the account you’re posting as: Posting as ….
  4. Write the Description, which becomes the TikTok caption. Hashtags and @ handles in it are linked by TikTok. If you leave it empty, the Title is used.
  5. Choose Who can see it. TikTok doesn’t let apps pick this for you, so there’s no default, and the options are the ones TikTok offers your account, such as Everyone, Followers, Friends or Only you.
  6. Under Allow users to, choose whether people can Comment, Duet and Stitch. An option you’ve turned off for your whole account in TikTok is greyed out.
  7. Click Publish to TikTok.
The video is posted directly to your profile, not to your TikTok drafts. By posting, you agree to TikTok’s Music Usage Confirmation, shown next to the Publish button.

Disclose branded or promotional content

If the video promotes yourself, a brand, a product or a service, turn on Disclose commercial content on the TikTok tab and choose at least one:
  • Your brand: you’re promoting yourself or your own business. TikTok labels the video Promotional content.
  • Branded content: you’re promoting another brand or a third party. TikTok labels the video Paid partnership, and you also agree to TikTok’s Branded Content Policy.
Branded content can’t be set to Only you.

How long can a TikTok video be?

TikTok sets the limit for each account: 3 minutes for most accounts, up to 10 minutes for some. Tella reads yours when you pick TikTok, and greys out TikTok with Unavailable: longer than 3 mins (or your account’s limit) if the video is longer. The caption can be up to 2,200 characters.

TikTok says I can’t post right now

TikTok limits how often any account can post through apps. Tella shows TikTok’s reason under Destinations:
  • This TikTok account has posted as much as TikTok allows through apps today. Try again tomorrow.
  • TikTok isn’t letting this account post right now. TikTok has restricted posting for the account; check the TikTok app.
  • Tella has reached TikTok’s daily limit of publishing accounts. Try again tomorrow.

Can I post to TikTok with the API or MCP?

No. TikTok requires the creator to fill in its posting form in the app, so TikTok posting is only available in the Publish tab. The API and MCP publish to every other platform, and they do list TikTok posts you made in the app.
