Tella bills per seat: every Owner and Member in your workspace is a paid seat, and Viewers are free. Adding or removing a seat mid-cycle is prorated.

How much does Tella cost?

Tella offers two paid plans, billed per user: All prices are in USD. Annual billing saves around 50% compared to monthly. You can view current plan details at tella.com/pricing.

Who counts as a paid seat?

Tella charges per user on your workspace. Every Owner and Member counts as a billable seat. Viewers are free and don’t count toward your seat total. For example, if your workspace has 3 Owners/Members on Pro (annual), your bill would be 3 × $13/month = $39/month (billed as $468/year).

What happens to my bill when I add a member?

Sending an invite doesn’t change your seat count. A pending invite costs nothing, and revoking it before it’s accepted avoids adding a seat. When someone accepts an Owner or Member invite, Tella updates an active paid subscription and charges the prorated seat price for the time remaining in the current billing period. The next renewal includes the full seat price. Accepting a Viewer invite doesn’t add a billable seat. During a free trial without a card on file, accepting an Owner or Member invite doesn’t charge you immediately. The seat is included if you start a paid subscription.

What happens to my bill when I remove a member?

When you remove a member, the seat count decreases and you’ll receive a prorated credit for the unused time on your next invoice.

Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?

Yes. Go to Settings → Plans & Billing, set the Monthly / Yearly toggle to the interval you want, and click Switch to annual (or Switch to monthly) on your current plan. Stripe shows the prorated amount before you confirm. See Switch between monthly and annual billing.

Am I charged during the free trial?

No. New workspaces start with a 7-day free trial. During the trial you can record, edit, export finished videos, and share. Uploading videos from your computer and exporting raw recordings require an active paid plan. If you don’t subscribe before the trial ends, you keep access to the videos you created during the trial but can’t record, edit, or export until you subscribe. Learn more. Need more time to test Tella? Workspace owners can add 7 days themselves at tella.tv/extend-trial, once per workspace. Learn more.

Where do I manage payment details?

All billing is handled through Stripe. Workspace owners on a paid plan open the Stripe billing portal this way:
  1. Click your workspace name in the top-left corner.
  2. Go to Settings → Plans & Billing.
  3. Click Manage on your current plan, or the open the Stripe portal link at the top of the page.
From the Stripe portal you can:
  • Update your payment method
  • View invoice history and download receipts
  • Cancel your subscription

Why is my bill higher than expected?

The most common reason is additional team members. Each Owner or Member on your workspace is a billable seat, and a seat is added when their invite is accepted, not when it’s sent. Check your member list under Settings → Members to see who’s on your workspace.

Why was I charged a different amount than the listed price?

If you added or removed members during a billing cycle, Stripe prorates the charges. This can result in a bill that doesn’t match the exact per-user price. Check your invoice in the Stripe portal for a line-by-line breakdown.

Can I pay in a currency other than USD?

Tella only accepts payments in USD. However, Stripe allows for adaptive billing, so you may be able to pay in your local currency. Stripe may apply a conversion fee. Your bank or credit card provider may also apply their own currency conversion fees.

How do I see what I’m being charged for?

Open the Stripe billing portal from Settings → Plans & Billing → Manage. Your invoices show the plan, number of seats, billing interval, and any prorated adjustments. You can also download past invoices.
