Once you have finished editing your video in Tella, you are ready to share it with viewers or download it to publish elsewhere.

Share your video

  1. Open your video in the editor.
  2. In the top right, click Share.
  3. Click Copy link to copy the video link to your clipboard.
  4. Paste and send the link to anyone you want to share it with. They can watch the video in their browser.
Tella renders videos instantly, so you can copy and share the link right away without waiting.

Change who can access your video

In the share menu, you can choose who is allowed to view the video.
  • Anyone with the link: anyone you send the link to can watch.
  • Workspace members: only people on your team can watch. If the video is embedded on an external site, viewers who are not signed in to your workspace see a “Video unavailable” message with a link to watch it on Tella.
  • Password protected: anyone with the link can open the page, but they will need the password to watch.
For additional, more granular preferences, click Viewer settings in the share menu.

Preview what viewers will see

When you share your video, viewers will not see the editor. They will see the video view page instead.
  1. In the top right of the editor, click the Play icon.
  2. Review the view page to confirm everything looks right.
On the view page, you can:
  • Edit the video title
  • Add a call-to-action button
  • Play the video to review the final result

Call-to-action buttons

You can add up to two call-to-action (CTA) buttons to your video. CTA buttons appear on the video view page and in embeds, giving viewers a clickable link alongside your video.

Workspace default CTAs

Your workspace can have default CTA buttons that automatically appear on all videos. When a workspace default is set, each video inherits those buttons without any extra setup. To change the workspace default, go to your workspace settings.

Customize or remove CTAs per video

From the video view page, click a CTA button to open the CTA editor. You have three options:
  • Keep the workspace default — the video uses whatever CTA is set at the workspace level. If the workspace default changes later, the video updates automatically.
  • Customize for this video — override the workspace default with a custom label and URL for this video only.
  • Remove from this video — hide the CTA on this video without affecting the workspace default or other videos.
If you are the video creator or an editor, you can also click the video title in the top-left of the page to access a dropdown menu with quick actions like rename, duplicate, manage playlists, viewer settings, and delete. Viewers can also control playback options such as playback speed, captions, mute, and full screen. If you have downloads enabled, viewers see a Download button in the top navigation bar.

You can generate embeddable content to paste directly into an email, so recipients see a preview of your video without leaving their inbox.
  1. Open your video in the editor.
  2. Click Share in the top right, then click Email.
  3. Choose a format:
    • Animated — an animated GIF preview. Works in all email clients.
    • Static — a still image preview. Works in all email clients.
    • Video — an HTML5 video that plays inline. Works in Apple Mail, iOS Mail, and Superhuman. Other email clients show a clickable thumbnail that links to the video.
  4. Click Copy code to copy the HTML snippet, then paste it into your email.
The Video option requires that your video has been exported at least once. If no export is available, you will see a message prompting you to export first.
For the Video embed to work, your video must be set to Anyone with the link. Email clients and their media proxies cannot authenticate, so the video needs to be publicly accessible.

Download your video

If you want to publish your video somewhere else (for example YouTube, LinkedIn, or X), you can download it as a file.
  1. Open your video in the editor.
  2. In the share menu, click Download.
  3. Choose your download options, such as:
    • Type — video, audio, subtitles, or a thumbnail (JPG, WebP, or animated GIF)
    • Subtitles — how subtitles are included
    • Video size — resolution for the export
    • Frame rate — frames per second for video exports
Your export settings are saved automatically and remembered between sessions, so you don’t need to reconfigure them each time.
  4. Click Download to download the file to your computer.
Once downloaded, you can upload the file to other platforms.
