Turn on Two-factor authentication under Security in Settings → Profile to require an authenticator code when you sign in with your email and password.
Turn on two-factor authentication
- Click your workspace name in the top left of the sidebar, then select Settings. It opens on your Profile page.
- Under Security, find Two-factor authentication and click Set up.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as 1Password, Google Authenticator, or Authy. If you can’t scan it, enter the displayed key in your authenticator app instead. Use Copy key to copy it.
- Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Tella submits it automatically once you enter all six digits.
Two-factor authentication is only enabled after your code is accepted. You’ll see an On badge next to Two-factor authentication. Starting setup without confirming a code doesn’t change how you sign in.
Sign in with two-factor authentication
When you sign in with your email and password, you’ll also be asked for a code from your authenticator app. Enter the current code for your Tella account.
This setting doesn’t apply to single sign-on (SSO). Workspace owners can’t require everyone in their workspace to turn on two-factor authentication.
Turn off two-factor authentication
- Open Settings → Profile.
- Under Security, click Turn off next to Two-factor authentication.
- Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Tella submits it automatically once you enter all six digits.
After your code is accepted, two-factor authentication is off. Signing in with your email and password no longer requires an authenticator code.
What if my authenticator code doesn’t work?
Enter the current code from your authenticator app, not a code sent to your email. If a code has expired, try the next code shown in the app.
If you see Too many attempts. Please wait 15 minutes before trying again., wait 15 minutes before entering another code.
What if I lose access to my authenticator?
Tella doesn’t provide recovery codes. If you lose access to your authenticator, contact support@tella.com for help recovering access to your account. Last modified on October 2, 2026
