You can transfer ownership of your Tella workspace to someone else. A workspace can have multiple owners, so the transfer is done by making the other person an Owner and then having them adjust or remove your access.

Make someone else an Owner

If the person is already in your workspace:
  1. Click your workspace name in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select Add and Manage Members.
  3. Find the member and open their role dropdown.
  4. Select Owner.
If they’re not in your workspace yet, invite them first: click Invite, enter their email address, and choose the Owner role. See Invite a new member for details, including billing implications of adding a member.

Complete the handover

You can’t change your own role or remove yourself from a workspace. Once the new owner has accepted and can access the workspace, they can:
  • Change your role to Member or Viewer, or
  • Remove you from the workspace entirely. If you still own videos, they’ll be prompted to transfer them to another member or delete them — see Remove a member.
The workspace, its videos, members, settings, and subscription all stay in place — only who controls it changes. As an Owner, the new person can manage billing, members, and workspace settings.

Videos keep their creators

Transferring workspace ownership doesn’t change who owns individual videos. To hand over specific videos, the creator can transfer ownership of a video to another member, or videos can be transferred in bulk when a member is removed.
