A playlist is a collection of videos; a playlist group is a collection of playlists. Playlist groups let you organize playlists into collapsible sections in the sidebar. You can use them for projects, teams, customers, content types, or any other structure that makes your playlist list easier to scan. Groups only tidy up your sidebar. They don’t change how your videos or playlists are shared, and viewers never see your groups. Groups are available in the Personal and Workspace playlist sections. Personal groups are only visible to you. Workspace groups are shared with everyone in your workspace.

Create a playlist group

  1. Click the + button next to Playlists in the sidebar.
  2. Select New group.
  3. Add a name and choose an icon.
  4. If you are in a workspace, choose whether the group belongs in Personal or Workspace.
  5. Click Create.

Move playlists into a group

You can move playlists into groups from the sidebar.
  • Drag a playlist onto a group header to add it to that group.
  • Drag playlists inside a group to reorder them.
  • Drag a playlist out of a group to make it ungrouped again.
  • Open a playlist row menu and select Move to group when you prefer not to drag.
On mobile, long-press a playlist to drag it, or use the row menu to move it into a group.

Manage groups

You can open a group row menu to rename or delete a group. Deleting a group does not delete the playlists inside it. The playlists become ungrouped and stay in the same Personal or Workspace section.

Reorder groups

Drag a group header to move the group within its sidebar section. When you move a group, the playlists inside it move with the group. You can collapse a group when you want more room in the sidebar. Collapsing a group only changes your sidebar view; it does not hide or remove playlists for viewers.
