You can export an animated GIF from any Tella video. Choose a start time, set the duration, pick a size, and preview the result before downloading.

Download a GIF

  1. Open your video in the editor.
  2. Click Share in the top right, then click Download.
  3. Under Type, select Thumbnail (.gif).
  4. Set your preferred options:
    • Start time — choose where in the video the GIF begins (in seconds). Use the increment and decrement buttons to fine-tune the value.
    • Duration — drag the slider to set how long the GIF loops, from 0.5 seconds up to 30 seconds. The maximum is clamped to the remaining video length from your start time.
    • Size — select Large (1280px), Medium (640px), or Small (320px).
  5. Check the live preview to confirm the GIF looks right.
  6. Click Download GIF.
You can also download a static thumbnail as JPG or WebP from the same menu. Static thumbnails support the same start time and size controls but do not have a duration slider.
