Recorder chooses which recorder opens when you start a new video or clip. You can pick:- Always ask — Tella asks each time whether to use the desktop app or the web app.
- macOS app or Windows app — always use the desktop app.
- Web app — always record in the browser.
This setting only appears when you are on macOS or Windows, since it chooses between a desktop app and the web app. On other systems every recording uses the web app.
- Auto-generate chapters — automatically generate chapters for new videos.
- Auto-generate titles — automatically generate a title for new videos.
- Auto-generate descriptions — automatically generate a description for new videos.
Sharing
These set the defaults that new videos inherit. Changing one does not alter videos you have already recorded — to change an existing video, open its viewer settings instead.- Show captions — new videos have captions on by default.
- Show view count — new videos show the view count.
- Show comments — new videos have comments enabled.
- Show reactions — new videos have emoji reactions enabled.
- Show transcripts — new videos show the transcript to viewers.
- Allow document generation — viewers can generate documents from new videos.
- Allow downloads — viewers can download your videos.
- Allow raw downloads — viewers can download the raw source files. This option appears once downloads are allowed.
- Show copy link button — new videos show the copy link button.
- Playback speed — the default speed the player starts at. Viewers can still change it themselves.

Always show playlists and tags shows playlist and tag badges on video thumbnails at all times, instead of only when you hover over them.Related settings
