You can connect GitHub under Settings → Connections, then create an issue from a generated document in a video’s Ask tab. The issue includes the document and a link to your video.
Connect GitHub and choose a repository
- Open Settings → Connections in Tella.
- Find the GitHub card and click Connect.
- Authorize Tella in the window that opens.
- Under GitHub, choose a Default repository.
Your default repository is saved for you in the current Tella workspace. Change it under Settings → Connections whenever you want issues to go to a different repository.
Create a GitHub issue from a video
- Open a video’s Ask tab and generate a document, such as a bug report or summary.
- In the Generated document window, choose Create… → Create GitHub issue. You must be signed in to your Tella workspace to see this option.
- If you haven’t connected GitHub, authorize it, then choose Create GitHub issue again.
- If you haven’t set a default repository, select one. Tella saves your selection and creates the issue there; if you already have a default, it creates the issue immediately.
The issue title comes from the document’s heading. The body contains a link to your Tella video followed by the document text, rather than an embedded video. The new issue opens in a new tab, and the confirmation includes a link to it.
Why is my repository missing?
The selector shows up to 100 of your most recently pushed-to repositories, excluding archived repositories and those with issues disabled.
If your GitHub organization restricts OAuth app access, an organization admin must approve the app before its repositories can be listed or issues created there.
Reconnect or disconnect GitHub
If your GitHub access has been revoked, click Reconnect GitHub when prompted, or reconnect under Settings → Connections. After authorizing, choose Create GitHub issue again to retry.
To disconnect GitHub, open Settings → Connections and click Disconnect on the GitHub card. Last modified on October 8, 2026
