The editor shows We couldn’t load your video preview when its preview fails to download or start, and Tella was updated while this tab was open when the tab is running an older version of Tella. Click Try again or Reload on the screen. Your video and edits are safe.

“Tella was updated while this tab was open”

Tella released an update after you opened this tab, and the tab can no longer download the parts of the editor it needs. Click Reload to open the latest version. To avoid it, reload editor tabs you have left open for a long time (for example, overnight) before you start editing again.

“We couldn’t load your video preview”

The editor downloads its preview engine when it opens. If that download is interrupted or the engine fails to start, you see this message.
  1. Click Try again.
  2. If it fails again, check your internet connection and reload the page.
  3. Turn off VPNs, ad blockers, or privacy extensions for tella.tv, then reload. Some block the files the editor downloads.
  4. On a work network, ask your IT team to allow tella.tv and its downloads; some company firewalls block large downloads from websites.
  5. Close other tabs and apps if your computer is low on memory, then reload.
If the message still appears, check status.tella.com in case Tella is having an outage.

Still seeing it?

Ask the support assistant to open a bug report, and include the browser you use and whether other videos open in the editor.
