Video messages are a form of asynchronous communication. They’re typically short videos to explain or show something. Video messages are great for topics that are difficult to put into writing and visual tasks or feedback. Use video messages to replace meetings, long emails, or endless Slack threads.
How to make a video message
Record
From the Tella recorder pick your camera and share your screen. When you’re ready, press “Start recording”. Explain or show what you need to. For faster videos try using the Tella Chrome extension.
Share
Once you’re done recording, click the link icon in the Chrome extension to share the video instantly. This will copy the video’s link to your clipboard so that you can share it with recipients right away.

First decide what your message is about. Do you need to show someone how to do something? Make the video message about that. Then using a video messaging app like Tella start recording your screen and camera. When you’re done, stop the recording and send its link to your recipient. They’ll be able to open the video’s link in their web browser and watch it right away.
Use video messaging to replace live meetings, long emails, or endless Slack threads. Video messaging can help your remote team work asynchronously.
Say whatever you need! Be mindful of your viewer and try to stay concise and on topic. No one wants to listen to endless rambling.
