Frequently asked questions
Overlays are images or videos that float above your recording — like logos, screenshots, reaction GIFs, or picture-in-picture clips — without replacing what is already on screen.
Open Effects, find Overlays, and move the playhead to where you want it to appear. Click the plus button, then upload an image or video, choose one from your Personal or Workspace library, or generate an image with AI.
Drag the overlay on the canvas to move it and drag its corners to resize it. In the timeline, drag the segment or its edges, or enter precise start and end timestamps in the Effects sidebar.
Yes. Choose Smooth to fade an overlay in and out, or Hard cut for an instant transition. You can overlap several overlays and use Send to front or Send to back to change their layer order.
Yes. Open the video overlay's three-dots menu and select Mute audio. Select Unmute audio from the same menu to restore it.
