Animated looping backgrounds without stock footage
Ask the Tella Agent for a looping animated background. Tella Motion builds it from gradients, grids and noise, and you can edit it later.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
Make a 10-second Tella Motion clip with a slow background that loops cleanly. Use a dark navy to deep purple gradient, soft low-contrast fractal noise, and a few blurred circles that drift and return. Keep the center calm for a title.
Build a channel intro background: an orange to pink radial gradient with large rounded shapes that pulse in a ping-pong loop. Add 'Weekend Builds' in white bold type, fading in word by word over two seconds.
Make a section title card: an off-white background with a thin light gray grid that pans diagonally and loops every 8 seconds. Add 'Module 3: Pivot tables' in dark slate. Then duplicate it for 'Module 4: Charts'.
How do I make an animated looping background for my video without stock footage?
In Tella, add a Tella Motion clip or b-roll on a recorded clip, then describe the background to the Tella Agent. Tella Motion builds it from gradient ramps, grids, animated fractal noise and shapes, and loops the keyframes. Everything stays editable, so you can change colors, pace or pattern any time.
How to do it
- Choose Add clip → New Tella Motion clip, or select a clip for b-roll.
- Tell the Tella Agent the colors, pattern and speed you want.
- Ask it to loop the motion, cycling or ping-ponging, and add any title.
- Play the preview and ask for changes like "slower loop".
Good to know
- Available to everyone: through the Tella Agent on a paid plan or the 7-day trial, or through Claude or ChatGPT on any plan.
- A Tella Motion clip has no transcript, layouts or cuts. You can still add overlays on top.
- An overlay plays over your recording. To replace the recorded clip while you talk, ask for b-roll.
- A new Tella Motion clip is 10 seconds long and goes at the end. Drag it to move it.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Tella's MCP server and it can use the same Tella Motion tools as the Tella Agent. Each edit shows in the Tella editor right away.
Tella Motion can use gradient ramps with up to four colors, linear or radial, plus grid lines and animated fractal noise. Combine them with moving shapes, blur and keyframed position or scale.
Yes. Ask the Tella Agent to duplicate the Tella Motion design with new text. The copy keeps the background, colors and motion, and editing one doesn't change the others.
