Sound effects on the right moment

Ask the Tella Agent to add sound effects to your video. It picks or generates whooshes, clicks and stings and places each on the right moment.

The prompt below, run on a recording of Grant and Louise from Tella, after adding a title card and a layout change. Play with sound on.

Try it in Tella

Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.

Start here
Add subtle sound effects to this video: a soft whoosh on each layout change and title card, a light click when I click in the screen recording, nothing in the first ten seconds. Keep my voice clear.
  • Short-form video

Make this Short punchier: a pop on every caption keyword, a riser into the reveal at the end, and a record scratch where I change topic. Then show me the volume controls.

  • Product demo

Add a success chime when the order is confirmed on screen and a soft ping each time a message appears. Generate a two-second retro computer boot sound for the start of the demo section.

How do I add sound effects to a video with AI?

In Tella, tell the Tella Agent what sound effects you want and where they go. It picks sounds from Tella's built-in library, or generates a new one from your description. It places each sound on the moment you mean and mixes it on top of your voice.

How to do it

  1. Open your video in the Tella editor and open the Tella Agent.
  2. Describe the sounds and where they go: transitions, clicks, reveals or words.
  3. Preview, then drag the live volume sliders or ask for changes.
  4. To add a sound by hand, open Overlay → Sounds.

Good to know

  • Needs a paid plan or the 7-day trial. Messages use your workspace's credits.
  • You can set each sound effect anywhere from 0 to 200% volume.
  • You can undo a sound effect like any other edit.
