Keep your voice clear over game and app sounds
Ask the Tella Agent to turn down app or game sound in your screen recording and boost your mic, for the whole video or one clip.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
The app sounds in my screen recording drown out my voice. Turn system audio down to 30 percent for the whole video and raise my mic a little. Then tell me the levels you set for each source.
This is a gameplay demo for our new platformer. Set system audio to 40 percent and mic to 120 percent. In the third clip, the boss fight, keep my mic as is and raise game audio to 80 percent.
Notification chimes and terminal bells got into my SDK demo. Turn system audio off for the whole video. In the clip where the sample app plays its onboarding sound, set system audio to 60 percent.
How do I turn down the app sounds in my screen recording so my voice is easier to hear?
In Tella, ask the Tella Agent in the editor's sidebar to lower the app sound and raise your mic, for example "turn the app sound down to 30 percent." It changes the levels while you watch. You can also set System audio and Microphone volume under Advanced audio settings in the Audio panel.
How to do it
- Open the video in the Tella editor and open the Tella Agent chat.
- Say how loud the app sound should be next to your voice.
- Name a clip if only that clip needs different levels.
- Fine-tune levels under Advanced audio settings in the Audio panel.
Good to know
- Needs a paid plan or the 7-day trial. Messages use your workspace's credits.
- System audio is all non-microphone audio, so lowering it also lowers other screen or uploaded footage in that clip.
- Volumes run from 0 (muted) through 1 (the recorded level) to 2 (double).
- B-roll volume is set per layout, not per clip. Background music has one volume for the whole video.
