Film the step your tutorial skipped
Forgot to film one step of your tutorial? The Tella Agent uses Auto Capture to record it in your web app and place it where it belongs.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
My tutorial skips inviting a teammate at 2:10. Record it at https://app.example.com/settings/team with the "Demo account" credential: click Invite, type alex@example.com, choose Editor, and stop before sending. Add it at 2:10 as its own clip, about 15 seconds.
Lesson 4 of my spreadsheet course skips filter views. Record https://app.example.com/sheets/sales-demo with the "Demo account" credential: open Data, create a filter view where Region is West, end on the filtered rows. Turn on Keystrokes and insert at 3:30.
My returns tutorial skips choosing a reason. Film https://example.com/account/orders with the "Shopper demo" credential: open order 1042, click Return item, pick "Wrong size" and stop on the review screen. Use it as b-roll over 1:05 to 1:20.
I forgot to record one step of my web app tutorial. Can AI film just that step and add it to my video?
Yes, the Tella Agent can have Auto Capture film one step of your web app and add it to your video. Give it the page's full URL and the timestamp where the step belongs. Auto Capture films it in its own browser with an animated cursor, and the agent places the take there as its own clip or b-roll.
How to do it
- Save a demo login under Settings → Credentials if the step needs a sign-in.
- Open the tutorial in the Tella editor and open the Tella Agent.
- Describe the step, the page's full URL and where it belongs.
- Check the placement, then add narration as an audio file and trim.
Good to know
- Closed beta on paid plans: email support@tella.com for access. Each take uses your workspace's credits, the same balance the Tella Agent spends.
- Only web pages on public http or https domains can be filmed. Desktop apps, mobile apps and localhost builds can't.
- The agent may reach the feature off camera. If viewers need to see how to get there, say so.
- If a take is almost right, ask for a revision and say what to change. The earlier take stays as it was.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Any AI app connected to Tella's MCP server can start an Auto Capture take. When it's delivered, ask the app to add it to your Tella video, then open the video in Tella to edit it.
Tella's Auto Capture undoes any change it can before filming. For one it can't undo, like sending an email, it stops and asks. Reply with a workaround, such as "stop on the confirmation, don't send", and a new take starts.
Yes. The take is a screen recording with an animated cursor, so you edit it in Tella like any clip: trim it, add zooms, restyle the cursor or change the background to match.
