Auto Capture films your new feature on a staging or preview URL with an animated cursor. The site needs to be on a public domain.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
Use Tella Auto Capture to record our new bulk export on https://staging.example.com/reports for existing customers. Select three reports, export them as CSV and end on the download confirmation. Sign in with the "Staging demo" credential. Staging is a sandbox, so changes are fine.
Our scheduling feature launches Thursday. Record about 45 seconds on https://preview.example.com/calendar for team admins: create a recurring weekly meeting, invite one teammate, end on the week view. Use the "Preview demo" credential and delete nothing.
Film the new command palette on https://staging.app.example.com for developers, using keyboard shortcuts. Open it, search for "deploy", run the preview deploy and end on the deploy log. Use the "Staging admin" credential. Don't start a production deploy.
Can an AI record a demo of a feature on our staging or preview site before it goes live?
Yes, Tella's Auto Capture can film a feature on your staging or preview site if the site is on a public domain. Ask the Tella Agent or an AI app connected to Tella's MCP server for a take of the staging URL. It opens the page in its own browser, explores, checks its script, then films with an animated cursor.
How to do it
- Put the build on a public staging URL, not localhost or an intranet host.
- Save a demo login in Settings → Credentials for the staging domain.
- Ask for a take with the full URL, the audience and the end screen.
- Read the handoff note, then edit the take in Tella.
Good to know
- Closed beta on paid plans: email support@tella.com for access. Each take uses your workspace's credits, the same balance the Tella Agent spends.
- Say whether staging is a sandbox. The agent asks before any change it can't undo.
- The capture header doesn't get past a CAPTCHA, Cloudflare Turnstile or any other challenge that runs inside the page.
- Takes have no narration. Record a voiceover in an audio app and add the file as a sound.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Connect the app to Tella in Settings → Connections and ask it to use Auto Capture on your staging URL. When the take finishes, ask it to put the take in a new Tella video.
Copy the X-Tella-Auto-Capture header value from Tella's Settings → Credentials → Capture identification. In Cloudflare, AWS WAF or the Vercel Firewall, add a rule that allows requests with it. Keep the value private.
Yes. Anything the signed-in account can see may appear in a Tella Auto Capture take. Sign in with a demo account that has realistic sample data, not real customer data.
