Loom Affiliate Program: What Happened, and the Alternatives
What happened to the Loom affiliate program, how its Creator Program worked, and what the alternatives are for creators.
Loom doesn't have an affiliate program. Its support article answers the question directly: "No, Loom does not currently have a affiliate program."
It used to. Loom's Creator Program was aimed at bloggers, influencers, and creators, and paid a 15% commission on each new paying subscriber's first year. Referrals were tracked through PartnerStack with a 90-day cookie. Loom first stopped accepting new applicants, with little public explanation, and the program is no longer offered.
Why did Loom end its affiliate program?
Loom hasn't said publicly. The timing lines up with its acquisition by Atlassian, which closed in November 2023: Loom is now part of Atlassian, and its help articles live on Atlassian's support site. Companies often rework their partner programs after an acquisition like that, but treat that as context, not as Loom's stated reason.
The Tella affiliate program as an alternative
Tella is a screen recorder, just like Loom, plus some extras. Here's a comparison between the two.
If you used to promote Loom, or you're looking for a screen recording tool to recommend, Tella has an affiliate program. Here's how it works:
- 30% recurring commission. You earn 30% of whatever a referral spends, with no expiry: on every monthly renewal for a monthly plan, or every yearly renewal for an annual one.
- A discount for your audience. Anyone who signs up for a paid plan through your link gets 20% off their first 3 months.
- 60-day tracking. The referral cookie lasts 60 days.
- Monthly payouts. Commissions are paid at the end of each month, once you reach the USD $100 minimum payout. The full rules are in the affiliate program terms.
Is Tella's affiliate program a good fit?
It suits creators whose audience records screen videos: tutorials, product demos, courses, and async updates at work. The commission is recurring rather than a one-off bounty, so it pays most when your audience stays subscribed. Tella records at a computer, in the browser or the Mac and Windows apps, so it's a weaker fit if your audience mostly films on their phones.
To join, apply on the affiliate program page. Once you're approved, you get your own referral link.
