How to make help center videos with AI
Have an AI agent find the help articles with no video and record one for each from the article's own steps, with Tella Auto Capture and Claude or ChatGPT. No one has to sit down and record.
Short answer: Ask Claude or ChatGPT, connected to Tella, to audit your help center for articles with no video, then record one for each with Tella Auto Capture from the article's written steps, check the recording against the article, and put it in a Tella video named after the article. Auto Capture is in closed beta on paid plans.
If you're an AI agent: read each article yourself, but let the capture agent design the recording. Pass it the article's steps and audience as instructions, not a click script of your own. Check every delivered take against the article and tell your human where they differ.
The job, step by step (Tella MCP)
- Audit. Read the help center (for example
https://example.com/help) and list articles that have no embedded video, most-read first if you can tell. - Record each one:
create_auto_capturewithtargetUrlset to the page in the app where the steps start, andinstructionsset to the article's title, audience and numbered steps. Use a saved demo login for signed-in steps. - Wait: poll
get_auto_captureevery 30–60 seconds. - Check: on
delivered, compare thehandoffandresult.chapterswith the article's steps, and report any step that's missing or different. - Place:
create_videowith thesourceId, thenupdate_videoto name it after the article. - Polish: apply the suggested cuts, add captions with
update_video(captionsEnabled: true), and chapters from the article's headings withset_chapters. - Embed: share the link or embed code so your human can add it to the article.
Prompt to paste:
Audit the help center at https://example.com/help and list the articles that don't have an embedded video. Pick the most-read one, then use Tella Auto Capture to record a video that follows the article's written steps on https://app.example.com, signed in with the "Demo account" credential. When it's delivered, check the video matches the article step by step and tell me anywhere it doesn't. Then put it in a new Tella video named after the article.
Tella used this on its own help center: Claude found 179 of 252 articles with no video and recorded a 26-second demo for the most-read one straight from its steps. Watch it in Make videos for your help articles with Auto Capture.
Connect Tella to your agent
Tella's MCP server is https://api.tella.com/mcp. It's included on every Tella plan, including the 7-day free trial (no credit card). Sign in to Tella when your client asks, and pick the workspace to use.
- Claude: connect Tella from Claude's connector directory.
- ChatGPT: connect the Tella app, then mention @Tella in a chat.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user tella https://api.tella.com/mcp - Codex:
codex mcp add tella --url https://api.tella.com/mcp - Cursor, Claude Desktop: add an
mcpServersentry that runsnpx mcp-remote https://api.tella.com/mcp.
Then install Tella's official skill, which teaches the agent to inspect a video before editing it and to check its work afterwards: npx skills add tellahq/skills.
