How do I animate a route drawing across a map in a video?
In Tella, attach your map and ask the Tella Agent to draw the route with Tella Motion. It draws the line on with a trim path effect and can add dashes, pins and labels. Put it in its own Tella Motion clip, or add it as an overlay or b-roll on a recorded clip to time it to your words.
How to do it
- Choose Add clip → New Tella Motion clip, or select a recorded clip.
- Attach your map image in the Tella Agent chat.
- Describe the stops, line color, dash and gap lengths, and timing per leg.
- Say which words start each leg, then ask for changes until it looks right.
Good to know
- Available to everyone: through the Tella Agent on a paid plan or the 7-day trial, or through Claude or ChatGPT on any plan.
- Tella Motion draws over a map image you provide. It does not pull in live map data.
- A Tella Motion clip has no transcript, layouts or cuts.
- The route is a shape over the image, so it follows roads only as closely as you describe.
