Animated graphics for release videos from Claude Code
Connect Claude Code to Tella's MCP server and describe a graphic. It builds titles, shapes and animated text with Tella Motion in your video.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
In my Tella video "v2.4 release", add a 6-second Tella Motion clip at the end: dark navy background, "Version 2.4 is out" in white bold sans-serif animating in word by word, and a teal line drawing in underneath. Check a frame when done.
In my Tella video "CLI walkthrough", add a Tella Motion lower third overlay when I first appear: "Sam Rivera" and "Developer Relations" sliding in from the left on a semi-transparent dark bar. Hold 4 seconds, then fade out.
In my Tella video "API performance update", when I say response times dropped from 420 ms to 180 ms, add Tella Motion b-roll with a bar chart: gray for 420, teal for 180, bars growing in over one second.
How do I make motion graphics with Claude Code without writing animation code?
Connect Claude Code to Tella's MCP server and describe the graphic you want, and Claude Code builds it in your Tella video with Tella Motion. It adds titles, shapes, keyframes and text animation, then checks a frame to confirm the result. The graphic stays editable in the Tella editor, so you can keep asking for changes.
How to do it
- Run claude mcp add --transport http --scope user tella https://api.tella.com/mcp and sign in.
- Ask Claude Code for the graphic and where it goes: clip, overlay or b-roll.
- Ask it to check a frame, then watch the video in the Tella editor.
- Ask for changes, such as a new color or different wording.
Good to know
- Available to everyone: through the Tella Agent on a paid plan or the 7-day trial, or through Claude or ChatGPT on any plan.
- A Tella Motion clip has no transcript, layouts or cuts. Overlays on it are timed from the clip's start.
- Tella Motion media in the Media Library is a frozen snapshot. Placing it makes a new document, so later edits don't reach the original.
- Edits apply in batches of up to 256. If one item fails, nothing in the batch applies.
