Put a title behind you and stand in front of it
Ask the Tella Agent to put a title, logo or sticker behind you. Tella cuts you out of your camera recording so you stand in front.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
Add the title "Week in Review" behind me for the first 5 seconds of this clip. Make it large white text across the top half of the frame so my head covers part of it, with a smooth fade in and out.
For my cooking channel intro, put "SUNDAY BATCH COOK" in bold yellow text behind me from 0:01 to 0:06, full width. Have it grow in, move in front of me 3 seconds later, then fade out.
Place our attached show logo behind my right shoulder for the whole clip, about a quarter of the frame wide. Add "Ep. 42: Hiring Your First Engineer" in white text behind me for the first 6 seconds.
How do I put text behind me in a talking-head video so I appear in front of it?
Ask the Tella Agent to put the text behind you, or set an overlay's Depth to Behind presenter yourself. Tella cuts you out of your camera recording and places the overlay between your background and you. It works in fullscreen, framed and cut-out layouts, on clips with a camera recording.
How to do it
- Open your video in Tella and open the Tella Agent.
- Describe the text, its timing, position and fade, and say it goes behind you.
- Wait for Preparing cut-out to finish the first time you use a recording.
- Adjust it in chat, in the overlay's Depth setting, or on the timeline.
Good to know
- Needs a paid plan or the 7-day trial. Messages use your workspace's credits.
- Overlays stay in front until the cut-out is ready, and exporting waits for it.
- Only text, media and sticker overlays can go behind you. Sound effects have no depth.
- New overlays start in front, so ask for Behind presenter each time.
