Make motion graphics from a text prompt
Describe a title, chart or lower third in plain words and Tella Motion builds it as editable motion graphics in your video. Ask for changes until it fits.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
Make a 5-second intro title card: deep green #14532D background, "Brightwell Coffee: Spring menu" in white bold sans-serif rising in word by word, and a cream line drawing on underneath at 1 second. Fade everything out over the last half second.
When I say "three new features" in my Quillmark update, add a Tella Motion overlay on the right third: three rounded cards labeled Calendar, Inbox and Billing that pop in one by one, 0.4 seconds apart.
When I explain shipping, add Tella Motion b-roll: a dashed orange #F97316 line that draws from a box shape to a house shape over 2 seconds on a navy background, with "Parcelry ships in 2 days" typing in below.
Can AI make motion graphics from a text prompt?
Yes. In the Tella editor, choose Add clip → New Tella Motion clip and describe the graphic to the Tella Agent, for example "an intro title that says 'Spring sale' and fades in word by word." Tella Motion builds it from editable titles, shapes, keyframes and effects. To time a graphic to what you say, ask for a Tella Motion overlay or b-roll on a recorded clip instead.
How to do it
- Open your video in the Tella editor.
- Choose Add clip → New Tella Motion clip, or pick the recorded clip the graphic should play over.
- In the Tella Agent chat, describe what it shows, the colors, the timing and how it moves.
- Watch the preview and ask for changes, like "make the title bigger and slow down the animation."
Good to know
- Available to everyone: through the Tella Agent on a paid plan or the 7-day trial, or through Claude or ChatGPT on any plan.
- Tella Motion doesn't generate footage. AI image and video generation is a separate Media Library feature.
- A Tella Motion clip has no transcript, so give its timings in seconds.
- If a font can't draw the weight you ask for, Tella Motion uses the nearest weight it has.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex to Tella's MCP server under Settings → Connections → AI apps. They use the same Tella Motion commands as the Tella Agent and can render a frame or an MP4 preview to check the result.
It stays editable. Tella Motion builds the graphic from titles, shapes, keyframes and effects, so you can keep asking the Tella Agent for changes. It plays in your shared and exported video like any other clip.
Yes. In My videos, type a request like "Make an animated title for my intro" in the "What do you want to make?" box. Tella creates a new video, opens it in the editor and the Tella Agent starts working.
