Make motion graphics for your video with ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT or Claude to Tella and ask for animated titles, lower thirds and charts. Tella Motion builds them in your video, and they stay editable.

Try it in Tella

Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.

@Tella In my video "Brightloom spring update", add a 5-second Tella Motion clip at the end: deep green #14532D background, "See you in June" in white bold sans-serif rising in word by word, and a thin gold line sliding in underneath. Check a frame when done.
  • Course creator

@Tella In my video "Quillpath lesson 3", add a Tella Motion lower third when I first appear: "Priya Nair" and "Writing coach" sliding in from the left on a dark bar at 80% opacity. Hold 4 seconds, then fade out.

  • Startup update

@Tella In my video "Harborly Q3 recap", when I say signups grew from 1,200 to 3,400, show Tella Motion b-roll with a bar chart: gray for 1,200, orange #F97316 for 3,400, bars growing in over one second.

Can ChatGPT make motion graphics or animations for my video?

Yes, through Tella. Connect ChatGPT in Tella under Settings → Connections → AI apps, then mention @Tella in a chat and describe the graphic, such as a title card, lower third, chart or animated text. ChatGPT builds it with Tella Motion as its own clip, as an overlay on your recording, or as b-roll in place of it. Claude works the same way.

How to do it

  1. In Tella, open Settings → Connections → AI apps, click Connect next to ChatGPT, and sign in to Tella.
  2. In a chat, mention @Tella and name the video, the graphic, and where it goes: its own clip, an overlay or b-roll.
  3. Give the text, colors and timing in seconds, or the line you say when it should appear.
  4. Ask it to check a frame, then play the video in Tella and ask for changes until it looks right.

Good to know

  • Available to everyone: through the Tella Agent on a paid plan or the 7-day trial, or through Claude or ChatGPT on any plan.
  • Tella Motion builds graphics from text, shapes, paths and media you give it. It doesn't generate video footage.
  • A Tella Motion clip has no transcript, so graphics in it are timed in seconds. To time a graphic to your speech, put it over a recorded clip.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Connect Tella from Claude's Connector Directory or from Settings → Connections → AI apps in Tella. Claude gets the same Tella Motion tools, and so do Claude Code, Cursor and Codex.

No. Tella is an official ChatGPT app: click Connect, sign in to Tella, then mention @Tella in a chat. A custom connector pointed at https://api.tella.com/mcp also works, but the official app is simpler.

Yes. The graphic is built with the same commands the Tella editor uses, so it stays editable like a hand edit. Select it in the Tella editor and ask the Tella Agent for changes, or go back to ChatGPT.
