Webcam Recorder For Tiktok Videos

A webcam recorder for TikTok lets you film yourself with the camera on your laptop or desktop instead of your phone. That's useful when the webcam or microphone on your computer is better than your phone's, when you're already at your desk, or when you want to cut and caption the video with a keyboard and a big screen before it goes out.

What you need from it: a clean camera and microphone recording, a way to turn a landscape webcam picture into a vertical 9:16 video, captions, and a way to get the result onto TikTok.

1. Open the recorder. Use the web recorder in Chrome, Edge or another desktop browser, the Chrome extension, Tella for Mac or Windows (in beta). Pick your webcam and microphone with the arrows next to the camera and microphone buttons.

2. Record camera only. Turn the camera and microphone on and don't share your screen. In the Mac app, click the screen button until it reads Screen off, then choose Record anyway. In the web recorder you can mirror your camera, check the full camera view, and blur or replace your background before you start.

3. Record in clips. Do your hook, then the next take, as separate clips. Re-record the one you fumbled instead of starting over; the clips combine into one video.

4. Make it vertical. In the editor, open the canvas size menu and choose Social media → TikTok (9:16, 1080 × 1920). Adjust your camera frame so you're centred in the vertical shot.

5. Check TikTok's safe zones. In Layout → Adjust, turn on Social safe zones and pick the TikTok preview. It shows where TikTok's caption, username and buttons will sit, so you can keep your face and any text clear of them. The overlay isn't exported.

6. Add subtitles. Tella transcribes the recording, so you can turn on subtitles, style them and burn them in for people watching with the sound off. You can also add background music and blur the room behind you after recording.

7. Post it to TikTok. Click Share, open Publish and pick TikTok. Choose who can see it and whether people can comment, duet and stitch, and Tella posts it straight to your profile. See Publish to TikTok.

• There's no Tella mobile app. In a phone or tablet browser you can record a quick camera video, but there's no editor, no clips and no canvas controls. Record and edit TikToks on a computer.

• TikTok sets the length. Most accounts can post up to 3 minutes through apps, some up to 10. Tella reads your account's limit and greys out TikTok if the video is longer.

• TikTok posting is in the Tella app only. You can publish from Share → Publish, but not through Tella's API or MCP server.

• No face filters or AR effects. Those are part of TikTok's own camera. Tella does layouts, backgrounds, background blur, color filters, text and media overlays, subtitles, sound effects and background music.
