Show a web page in your video from its link

Paste a web page link into the Tella Agent. Tella captures it as a screenshot or scrolling video and places it over your recording or in a layout.

Try it in Tella

Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.

Start here
Capture https://larkspurcoffee.example.com as a screenshot. Show it as an overlay on the right at 45% of the canvas width from when I say "our new site" until I start talking about pricing. Fade it in and out.
  • Agency case study

Capture the Hollowbrook Bakery home page at https://hollowbrook.example.com as a scrolling page. Use a Media layout with it for the 20 seconds after I say "here's what we built", then go back to my screen recording.

  • Founder update

Capture our changelog at https://quillmere.example.com/changelog above the fold. Show it centered at 60% of the canvas width while I list this month's updates, and fade it in and out.

How do I add a screenshot of a website to my video?

In Tella, paste the page link into the Tella Agent chat and say when and where it should appear. Tella captures the public page above the fold as an image, or as a scrolling-page video if you ask, and places it as an overlay or in a Media layout. To do it yourself, click Add from a link (the link icon) in the Media Library and paste the link.

How to do it

  1. Copy the link to a public web page.
  2. Open your video in the Tella editor and paste the link into the Tella Agent chat.
  3. Say when it shows, where it sits, and whether the page should scroll.
  4. Or click Overlay, then Media, Browse all, and Add from a link.

Good to know

  • Needs a paid plan or the 7-day trial. Messages use your workspace's credits.
  • Only public pages can be captured. Private pages aren't supported.
  • Above the fold captures the top of the page as an image. Scrolling page records it as video.
  • Captures save to the current video's library. Use Save to personal or Save to team to reuse them in other videos.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, for a website overlay in Tella. Select it on the canvas or timeline and, under Screenshot, choose Scrolling page or Above the fold. Tella captures the page again and replaces the overlay.

Yes. In Tella, right-click the overlay and choose Crop, then drag the crop frame around the part you want to keep. The crop applies in the editor and in exports.

Yes. An app connected to Tella's MCP server calls import_from_url with the page link, with scroll turned on for a scrolling video. It then places the capture with add_overlay or add_layout. Importing on its own does not edit the video.
