Record a walkthrough of a competitor's website for a teardown

Give Tella's Auto Capture a competitor's public URL and what to compare. It films the walkthrough with an animated cursor for your teardown or sales team.

Try it in Tella

Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.

Start here
Record a walkthrough of https://quillstack.example for our competitive teardown. Show the home page hero, open the Features menu, then go to the pricing page, compare their three plans and switch to yearly billing. End on the plan comparison table. Don't click any sign-up or contact buttons.
  • Sales battlecard

For our sales team's battlecard, film about 45 seconds of https://brightwell.example/pricing. Expand the seat limits and SSO rows in the comparison table, open the FAQ about overage fees, and stop on the Enterprise plan without clicking Contact sales.

  • Onboarding teardown

Film the public product tour at https://larkspur.example/tour as a new visitor would see it. Click through every step of the tour and end on the last screen. Don't submit any forms or start a trial.

How do I record a walkthrough of a competitor's website for a teardown or sales enablement?

Ask Tella's Auto Capture to film the competitor's public page. You can ask from the Tella Agent in the editor, or from Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella. Give the full URL, what to show and where to stop, such as "compare the three plans and end on the yearly toggle, don't click sign-up buttons." An AI agent opens the page in its own browser on Tella's servers and films it with an animated cursor. You get a take with a handoff note, chapters and suggested cuts.

How to do it

  1. Open a video in the editor and open the Tella Agent, or connect Claude or ChatGPT to Tella.
  2. Ask for a take with the competitor's full public URL, what to show and what to skip.
  3. Keep working while the take runs, then read the handoff note.
  4. Apply the suggested cuts, add zooms or a voiceover, and share it with your team.

Good to know

  • Beta, on paid plans. Each take uses your workspace's credits, the same balance the Tella Agent spends.
  • Auto Capture runs on Tella's servers and films public http and https pages the way a new visitor sees them. It can't record localhost, IP addresses or intranet pages.
  • Some sites show a "verify you're human" page to automated browsers or cloud traffic, and Auto Capture can't get past it. The firewall header in Tella's settings only helps on your own site.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app to Tella's MCP server and ask, for example, "Use Tella to record a walkthrough of https://quillstack.example/pricing." When the take is delivered, ask it to put the take in a new Tella video. Until then, the take doesn't show in your library.

Usually the site showed a bot check to Tella's capture browser. A take that stopped on a page like that can't be revised, so ask for a new take, perhaps of another public page on the site. Also check the URL opens in a private browser window.

Yes, one take at a time. One Auto Capture take films one page or flow, so ask for one take per competitor page. Then have the Tella Agent or your AI app add them to the same video in order. Each take comes with chapters you can use to title each section.
