Screen record a website online without installing anything
Record any public website without installing anything. Auto Capture opens the page in a browser on Tella's servers and films it with an animated cursor.
Try it in Tella
Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.
Use Tella Auto Capture to record https://brindlewood.example.com/pricing for first-time visitors: scroll through the three plans, switch the toggle to yearly, open the FAQ about seat limits and end on the yearly Team plan. Put the take in a new Tella video.
Record a walkthrough of https://www.copperfinch.example.com for a client review: start on the home page, open Menu, then Book a table, pick Friday at 7pm for two and stop before confirming. Don't submit any forms.
I talk about our webhooks guide at 0:45. Film https://docs.quillmoor.example.com/webhooks for about 15 seconds: scroll to the Retry policy section and end on the sample payload. Use it as b-roll over that part.
Can I screen record a website online without installing anything?
Yes, for web pages. Ask the Tella Agent in the editor, or Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella's MCP server, to record the page's full URL. Auto Capture opens it in a browser on Tella's servers, so nothing is installed and your own screen isn't used. You get a screen recording with an animated cursor that you can edit like any other clip.
How to do it
- Open a video in Tella and open the Tella Agent in the right sidebar (Shift + S if it's hidden).
- Ask for a recording with the page's full URL, who it's for and where it should end.
- When the take arrives, the Tella Agent places it in your video. Trim it, add zooms or record a voiceover.
Good to know
- Beta, on paid plans. Each take uses your workspace's credits, the same balance the Tella Agent spends.
- Auto Capture records public http or https pages only. It can't record localhost, IP addresses, intranet hosts, URLs with a username or password in them, desktop apps or mobile apps.
- Sites that block automated browsers show a bot check Auto Capture can't get past. On your own site, a firewall rule lets captures through.

Yes. Ask the Tella Agent or your AI app to revise the take and say what to change, such as "also open the FAQ and end there." The revision arrives as a new take and the earlier one is left unchanged. To shorten or reorder what you already have, edit the clip in the Tella editor.
Yes, if you first save a login for it in Tella under Settings → Credentials. Auto Capture signs in off camera and starts the recording already signed in. Password fields are always masked.
