Screen Recorder For Reel Videos

What is a screen recorder for reel videos?

A screen recorder for reel videos is a tool that allows you to capture and record whatever is happening on your computer or mobile screen. It's like taking a video of your screen while you're using it. This can be useful for various purposes like creating tutorials, recording gameplay, making presentations, or even capturing video calls.

With a screen recorder, you can easily show others how to use a specific software or website by recording your actions and explaining them in real-time. It's also great for gamers who want to share their gameplay with others or create content for streaming platforms. Additionally, if you need to give a presentation remotely, a screen recorder can help you record your slides and voiceover, making it easier to share with your audience. Overall, a screen recorder for reel videos is a handy tool for capturing and sharing what's happening on your screen.

How to record a reel video?

A reel built from a screen recording works when the screen detail is big enough to read on a phone. Here's how to record one in Tella.

  1. Plan for a small screen. Zoom your browser or app in before you record, and keep the part you're showing near the middle of the screen. Vertical crops cut off the sides.

  2. Record your screen, with your camera if you want a face on it. In the Tella recorder, share your screen and turn your camera on or off. Each is captured as its own track, so you can rearrange them later with layouts.

  3. Set the canvas to 9:16. In the editor, open the canvas size menu below the video and pick 9:16, or a Social media preset such as TikTok. Layouts reflow to the vertical frame. See change canvas size.

  4. Check the safe zones. On a 9:16 canvas, turn on Social safe zones under Layout → Adjust and pick Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or LinkedIn. The overlay shows where the app's captions and buttons will sit, and it never appears in the export.

  5. Tighten it. Use Cut to trim each clip, remove pauses automatically with silence removal, and add subtitles, text, or stickers. Reels are short, so cut harder than feels comfortable.

  6. Post it. Click Share → Publish and pick Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Stories, LinkedIn, or X. Tella exports once and posts to every platform you pick (how publishing works). Instagram needs a professional account linked to a Facebook Page, and Facebook posts go to a Page you manage (details).

Tella runs in your browser and as a Mac and Windows app. There's no Tella phone app, so this is a workflow for recording at a computer, not for filming on your phone.
