Edit every new recording automatically, no code needed

Turn on Automated editing in Tella to cut filler words and silences, add zooms and run the Tella Agent with your prompt on every new recording. No code.

Try it in Tella

Paste a prompt into the Tella Agent in the editor, or into Claude or ChatGPT connected to Tella, then ask for changes.

For every new recording: use the split layout while I'm showing my screen and full camera when I'm only talking. Trim anything before I say hello and after I say goodbye. Turn on subtitles in white with #1F6FEB as the active-word color, and write chapters.
  • Weekly product update

These are Quillmark's weekly product updates. Add a title card in the first 3 seconds that says "Quillmark weekly" in #0F766E, keep the whole video under 4 minutes by cutting tangents, and end on a 5-second card that says "Questions? Reply in #quillmark-updates."

  • Support replies

These are support videos for Brightwell customers. Cut the pauses while I wait for pages to load, zoom in each time I click a button in Settings, and write a title that starts with "How to" and names the setting I change.

Can I automate video editing without coding?

Yes. In Tella, go to Settings → Preferences and, under Recording, set Automated editing to Auto edit. As soon as each new recording finishes, Tella cuts its filler words and silences, adds auto zooms, and has the Tella Agent run its auto cut and auto layouts skills. To have the agent edit every new recording your way, write a prompt under Edit with the agent. Its report and undo steps appear in a chat on the video in the editor.

How to do it

  1. Click your workspace name in the top left, go to Settings, then Preferences.
  2. Under Recording, set Automated editing to Auto edit, or check only the steps you want.
  3. Under Edit with the agent, describe what the agent should do with each new recording.
  4. Type / or click Add skill to attach Tella's built-in skills or your own.
  5. Record as usual, then open the video in the editor to review or undo any edit.

Good to know

  • Needs a paid plan or the 7-day trial. Messages use your workspace's credits.
  • Automated editing applies to new recordings only, not to videos you've already recorded.
  • The agent works unattended, so it doesn't stop to ask questions. If it can't run, Tella skips the agent step, but the filler word, silence and zoom steps still run.
  • While cuts or the agent are still running, your share page and embed show "Tella is editing this video…" instead of the player, for up to 30 minutes. With only Auto zooms on, the video isn't held back.

Frequently asked questions

No. Tella's Zapier triggers are New Video Created, Transcript Ready, New Playlist Created and Video Added to Playlist. Its actions and searches add videos to playlists, create playlists, update or delete videos, and find or list videos and playlists. To cut or restyle every new recording automatically, use Automated editing in Settings → Preferences.

Yes. Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Tella's MCP server from Settings → Connections → AI apps, then ask in chat. It can make cuts and add layouts, zooms, backgrounds, overlays and sound effects. It can also save a workflow as a skill that the Tella Agent can run on later videos.

Yes, with webhooks. Workspace owners and members can add an HTTPS endpoint in Settings → Webhooks and choose events like video.created, transcript.ready or export.ready. The endpoint must be publicly reachable. Your system can then edit the video through Tella's public REST API.
