Screen Recorder with

Auto Zoom for product demos

Tella generates zooms from your clicks so product demos stay readable, then lets you edit every zoom. Works on Mac, Windows, and in the browser.

Zooms that follow your clicks

Record a product demo and Tella turns the clicks and cursor movement it captured into a first pass of zooms. Viewers see the button, field, or setting you're talking about instead of a wide shot of your whole screen.

Every generated zoom stays editable

Open the Effect tool to move, resize, retarget, split, or delete any zoom Tella generated. Select a range on the timeline or in the transcript and press Z to add one by hand.

Mac, Windows, and web

Auto Zoom works with Tella's native Mac app, native Windows app, and the Chrome extension when you record a browser tab. Manual zooms also work on uploaded videos.

Four styles, one click

Choose Adaptive, Subtle, Moderate, or Intense, then generate. Adaptive follows your clicks as you work, Subtle gives fewer and shallower zooms, and Intense zooms more often and deeper.

No export before sharing

Zooms play in the hosted link the moment you finish editing, alongside Auto Cut, layouts, and animated cursors. Export an MP4 in up to 4K when you need a file.

How Auto Zoom works

Record

Record your screen with the Tella Mac or Windows app, or a browser tab with the Chrome extension. Tella captures cursor position and clicks alongside the video, so there is nothing to plan before you press record.

Generate

Open Effect in the editor and click Generate zooms, or turn on Auto-apply zooms in Preferences to add them the moment a recording finishes. Tella places a zoom on each meaningful click and animates the move in and out.

Adjust

Drag a zoom card to move it, drag its edges to change the duration, switch between Auto (follows the cursor) and Manual (fixed target), and set the scale from 100% to 350%. Zooms stay in sync when you cut or trim the clip.

Frequently asked questions

Auto Zoom is Tella's editing feature that generates zoom effects from the clicks and cursor movement captured during a screen recording. It creates a first pass of zooms in one click, and each zoom can then be moved, resized, retargeted, split, or deleted like a manual zoom.

Yes. Tella's native Windows app records the cursor and click data Auto Zoom needs, the same as the Mac app. The Chrome extension captures it when you record a browser tab, so Auto Zoom is available on Mac, Windows, and in the browser.

Screen recordings made with the Tella Mac app, Windows app, or Chrome extension (browser tabs). Recordings without cursor data, including uploaded videos, support manual zooms instead. Zooms are not available on camera-only clips.

Yes. Select a range on the timeline or in the transcript and press Z, or click Add zoom at the playhead. Choose Manual to lock the zoom onto a fixed target or Auto to follow the recorded cursor, then set the scale between 100% and 350%.

Both generate zooms from your clicks and animate the camera smoothly. Screen Studio is a Mac-only app built around exporting a polished file. Tella runs on Mac, Windows, and in the browser, and combines zooms with Auto Cut, Auto Layouts, Studio Voice, and a hosted share link with analytics, so there is no export before sharing. If you only record on a Mac and export every video, Screen Studio's cinematic output is still a strong choice.

Yes. Zooms are timed to the edited video, so when you cut a section with Auto Cut or trim a clip, the zooms around it stay aligned with what viewers see.

Yes. Zooms and layouts can overlap, so your camera stays in the layout while the screen zooms in. Turn on Shrink camera during zooms to make the camera smaller while a zoom is active.
